Orenda Engines T Shirt
Few names are as closely tied to Canada's greatest aviation achievement as Orenda Engines. Established in 1946 as the engine division of A.V. Roe Canada, Orenda quickly became a world leader in jet engine design during the dawn of the jet age. The company's Orenda turbojet powered some of the Royal Canadian Air Force's most successful aircraft, including the Canadair Sabre and the Avro CF-100 Canuck, earning an international reputation for reliability, performance, and engineering excellence. Orenda's crowning achievement came with the development of the revolutionary PS-13 Iroquois engine, an advanced lightweight turbojet designed specifically for the legendary Avro CF-105 Arrow. Capable of producing more than 30,000 pounds of thrust with afterburner, the Iroquois was years ahead of its time and represented one of the most sophisticated jet engines ever developed in Canada. Although the Arrow program was cancelled in 1959 before reaching full production, Orenda's engineering accomplishments remain a lasting symbol of Canadian innovation and technical excellence. This vintage aviation T-shirt celebrates the remarkable legacy of Orenda Engines with retro-inspired artwork honoring the company that powered some of Canada's most iconic aircraft and helped define an extraordinary chapter in Canadian aerospace history.
